Those were Andy Linton’s words just moments after winning Best In Show at the 150th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. A short sentence, spoken quietly. Yet it revealed something important about elite performance. Because wins at that level are rarely accidents.

There is no organization that tracks the number of blind dogs in our country. However, veterinary researchers suggest that there are approximately 300,000 blind and partially blind dogs in the United States.

The Great Dane is the most popular giant breed, one of the more popular of the working dogs, and often has one of the better entries at dog shows.
