If you’ve spent any time in the dog show world, you’ve heard them.

•You know… ‘them’ or ‘they’.

•The mysterious, all-knowing voices who hand out “rules” about winning as if they were carved into stone tablets somewhere at the AKC headquarters in New York City.

• “They” say you can’t win unless you use a professional handler.

• “They” say you can’t win unless you wear a dress or skirt and pantyhose.

• “They” say you can’t win if you don’t advertise.

• “They” say judges only put up familiar faces.

• “They” say owner-handlers can only go so far.

Really? Let’s talk about who “they” are.
