Westminster is, by nature, a fairly shocking experience. But it turns out that even the seasoned professionals are not immune to some mental shakeups in this curious environment.
David Fitzpatrick has racked up so much winning at this point it’s probably easier to make a checklist of what he has NOT won. But this story is not about his accomplishments, it’s about the fact that no one is resistant to a good old Westminster shocking surprise.
He’s won plenty, but the interesting thing is that he has done it with an endless string of truly great dogs in a breed that comes with a host of built-in challenges. Knowing David all these years has provided a little insight into the details.
First off, the famed Pekingese roll is not designed for WOW. They are always last in line, taking their time. Forget about that perky, show-off performance that tends to win regardless of whether it’s correct for any breed.
