There are many factors that have a profound effect on your life’s trajectory, and the destination may be very different depending on which direction you choose.

When 1986 ended, and we welcomed 1987, I had many decisions to make. With the events of the previous year, mainly the passing of my mentor and friend, Garry, my training was cut short, and I felt a little in limbo. From October ‘86 to the end of the show season, I was forced to take on the professional handler tag. I knew this was what I wanted, but was I ready? The support I received from clients and friends can never be repaid. Especially Jane and Albert Geng of Abbishire bouviers, Garry’s clients. They gave me a home and a place to keep my dogs­–and always made me feel like a part of the family. People like that don’t come along often, and I will be eternally grateful to both of them. I have been blessed over the years to have the support of so many. At not yet 22 years of age, I still had so many questions.
