Remembering Betty Regina Leininger

We received sad news of the passing of former professional handler, Doberman breeder and respected judge, Mrs. Betty Leininger. Betty’s judging career spanned nearly 40 years. She was a popular judge here in the States and her expertise led to requests for her to judge all over the world. The highlights of her judging career most likely included three Doberman Pinscher Club of America National Specialties, the World Shows in Rio de Janeiro (2004) and Mexico City (2007), the Westminster Non-Sporting Group in 2004 then the Working Group in 2012, and Best In Show at Westminster in 2014.

Those who had the good fortune to show to Betty will always remember her kind smile and demeanor. Her stature and glamourous look always made her a presence in the ring. She took each assignment seriously and that was always reflected in her final placements.

Betty will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the history books of our sport.

The Canine Chronicle extends sincere condolences to her friends and family.
