Mrs. Dodge would probably give it a B+. Morris and Essex was envisioned on a truly grand concept of the perfect dog show. Gorgeous setting, breathtaking yet very tasteful set design, gracious ambiance… Okay, point made. However, the entire deal was there for a single purpose. There were, and are, plenty of places to enjoy lovely scenery and a picnic lunch. But this was about framing spectacular dogs to their best possible advantage.

And honey, she did that to perfection. Every headline dog and/or their human sidekick was there. Topping that list were judges who made history. If that was the reigning authority on a particular breed (her handpicked, invited breeds), she made sure they were in that ring making the decisions. It was quite simply the very best of everything.

That sets a really high bar for the present-day version. And 2025 was pretty good, but considering the fact that they had five years to plan, it could have been better.

First off, the parking. This show has become notorious for its nightmare parking situation. Mrs. Dodge would be furious.
