What images do the 1980s conjure up for you? Big hair? Shoulder pads? Michael Jackson’s moonwalk? Pop music? Dynasty?

Or maybe it’s ET, The Goonies, leg warmers, or Walkmans?

This decadent decade certainly means a lot to everyone fortunate to have experienced it. It was a time (in complete contrast to now) when nothing was impossible, and any dream seemed to be within reach.

Alongside all the ‘totally’ eighties things I have listed above, I can add one more thing–one that is slightly more unusual.

Because, for me– a dog-obsessed kid growing up in England enjoying a typical free-ranging eighties childhood–I can also add a certain dog breed to the things that remind me of the eighties. That breed–one that is also luxurious, decadent, and fabulously ‘over the top’–is the Bichon Frisé!
