Ventura, California is right on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, north of Los Angeles; and on a sunny day it is a grand place to have a dog show. With two distinct buildings and a courtyard in between, the showgrounds was a busy place for two days. The first day it was a bit foggy, but day two was sunny, sunny, sunny. The Bully breeds were there in full force. The Boxers, Shar-Pei, and Poodles had well-attended specialties on the site, too. There was a sale of the late Johnny Shoemaker’s personal belongings which drew great sales, lots of memories and tears. It was all for the benefit of the Poodle Club of Southern California.

The fashion, on the other hand, revealed some trends which were easy to spot. Here are some of the fashion favorites discovered in Ventura.
