September 21st marked a milestone in the dog show world with the Arapahoe Kennel Club proudly hosting the Inaugural National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS) Regional Event. The day was filled with excitement and joy, from exhibitors to judges, with smiles and praise all around. Special thanks go to the AKC for awarding the Arapahoe Kennel Club the honor of hosting this first-ever event, which exceeded all expectations.
The energy in the air was palpable. Attendees were glowing with excitement, and we couldn’t help but mill among the crowd during the Groups to soak it all in. What we heard was enthusiastic, positive remarks with no complaints in sight! Exhibitors praised the quality of the judges and their kindness toward participants. One heartwarming moment stood out: a mother talked about how special the experience was for her young daughter, who participated with her herding dog in the group ring.
Interestingly, almost three times more spectators gathered to watch the NOHS groups compared to the Regular groups, further demonstrating the growing popularity of the event. The camaraderie and joy shared among the judges were infectious.
