Throughout the 1930s and ‘40s Madeleine and James Austin campaigned some of the era’s most legendary dogs under their respective Catawba and Wissaboo banners. The fancy is mourning the loss of our dear friend, Roger Hartinger. Roger passed away last week after a short hospital stay. He was 86 years old. Roger and Paula, his wife of 64 years, could be seen hand in hand at most dog shows. Their admiration for one another was heart-warming. Roger was loved by all who knew him and will be sorely missed by the fancy. Our condolences go out to Paula and Roger’s many children, grandchildren and friends.
