Grooming reservations for the Kennel Club of Palm Springs opened and closed in less than an hour!!!! I hope this is a sign of large entries for one of the most beautiful shows in the country! From large multi-national corporations to local small businesses, employers are experiencing a crisis in hiring. The cause, baby boomers are retiring in large numbers and an ever-shrinking labor force both serve to create a growing number of unfilled jobs. Although many jobs are available in the technology sector, the problem extends well into manufacturing, construction, healthcare, finance and hospitality. In a recent survey conducted by U.S. Bank, 61 percent of the business respondents reported problems finding and hiring employees. Employers across the board also expressed a widening gap between the skills they seek and those possessed by potential employees.
