Some fanciers elected to leave for the Indianapolis shows a bit early in order to miss the weather, and they arrived safe and sound. I hear that finding places to eat was indeed a challenge due to many establishments being closed because of the weather and the lack of cleaning crews on the roads! Apparently, the cleaning crews were on strike and the area was depending on private citizens to help clear the roads. As some said: Denny’s never looked so good!
The entries for Crufts 2022 have now been announced. In total, more than 16,000 dogs will be competing across the four days at Crufts.
This year has seen an increase of 40 per cent or more in the entries for the Irish Water Spaniel, Sloughi, Lowchen (Little Lion Dog) and Canadian Eskimo Dog compared with 2020.
Stories of poor behavior do not seem to surprise us anymore. You can’t help but ask “where do people learn to act the way they do?” I believe the answer is “in the home.”
Dressing in good taste and behaving appropriately are at the core of good sportsmanship. Proper courtesy should be extended to your fellow competitors, the stewards, the judge and all with whom you come in contact at every show.

Those planning on attending the Indy Winter Classic this coming weekend should keep their eye on the club’s Facebook page for any weather updates that may affect the shows. As of now, there are no update to mention, but the Club will keep exhibitors informed of any weather impact on the shows with updates to their Facebook page; and we will do our best to keep fanciers apprised on the Canine Chronicle Facebook page and website.
The 146th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show presented by Purina Pro Plan is announcing that the postponed January 22-26 events are now scheduled for June 18-22, 2022, at the Lyndhurst Estate in Tarrytown, NY, with 19.5 hours of television coverage scheduled across FOX, FS1, and FS2.
You don’t need to have been showing dogs very long to have been afforded the opportunity to learn that some dogs lose.
