Hello from Budapest Hungary home of the 2013 World Dog Show. We started this morning with a welcoming opening ceremony featuring traditional Hungarian dancers, opera singers and the presentation of the FCI flag. The kennel club is pleased to welcome international guest and exhibitors.
My world away from dog showing is a complex one. Most frequently I navigate as “production staff” or “talent” for large-scale events for various companies and lately these types of jobs have kept me quite busy.
Following consultation with the Beagle breed health coordinator, on behalf of the breed clubs, the Kennel Club has recently approved a new official DNA testing scheme for neonatal cerebellar cortical degeneration (NCCD) in this breed. In a truly bizarre story coming out of British Columbia this week, officers with the Combined Forces Special Enforcement BC Unit seized 10,000 marijuana plants and 200 pounds of dried marijuana at four different properties located in Mission. Oddly enough, one of the properties housed an underground bunker that was concealed by a fake horse barn and paddock.
