Our new life, ‘down under’ is pretty fantastic for getting out and about; beautiful scenery, less crowds, more space…but (and there’s always a but, isn’t there?) the TV is truly, truly dreadful!

Over the Christmas holidays, I sought solace on YouTube, and this is where I discovered, quite by accident, the truly incredible coverage of the National Show. Upbeat, informative (sometimes humorous) narration from likeable, knowledgeable commentators made for compelling viewing. And I wasn’t alone; the online audience was vast. With pedigree dog and pedigree dog breeding once more coming under attack (especially in Europe), kennel clubs around the world should certainly look and learn as this medium is the very best way to fight back.

Of course, the dogs were the true stars, and what beauties were on show!

My eye was particularly taken by a stunning black pug.
