The fall season is in full swing, and while the weather is getting cooler, gardening never truly takes a day off.

It is easy to associate vibrant plants with warmer temperatures, but it may come as a surprise that there are a lot of options–in both rich colors and spring-like colors–that thrive in the fall. As a matter of fact, some of these plants that resemble their warm weather-loving counterparts actually cannot survive outside of the fall and winter seasons.

But for homes that include pets, it is important to make sure the plants you want in your home and garden won’t harm your pet.
