The dogs are the focus. You are totally correct about that. And the judge is supposed to be looking at the dogs. You are totally correct about that, too.

And you’re in the picture, too, so how you present yourself and what you wear matters–a lot!

You can start arguing if you want, but it won’t do you any good. When the judge is looking at your dog and you’re on the top end of the lead, the judge is seeing you. And judges are human, which means that even if they don’t try to, they’ll form an opinion of your appearance.

Your goal is to not detract from your dog. Your goal is to complement your dog. Your goal is to be as well-groomed as your dog, so you both shine.

Not everyone can go out and load up on St. John or Hugo Boss suits, and not everyone would look good in them anyway, so this article is all about ways you can enhance your style without breaking the bank.
