Judy Harrington – AKC Judge

What are your concerns as you return to judging?

My concerns returning to judging would be what we all face as we leave our homes if we have followed the guidelines for personal health safety. Clearly the exposure level is elevated by travel and days away from our home routines. The stress level is elevated as well these days. I have no problem whatsoever requesting that guidelines be followed in my ring or excusing anyone who doesn’t respect the safety issues for me or fellow exhibitors. I will be tested prior to the event for my safety and the safety of those in my ring.

What are your expectations when you are in the ring?

My expectations would be that anyone entering has read and understands the club guidelines for the event as printed in the premium list and judging program. I will have read it and adhere to those requirements so every exhibitor entering the ring should not need instructions for in-ring procedure. I would also hope that every exhibitor would have been tested prior to being on the road.
