Table Talk

I am saddened by the horrific act of violence in Orlando this past weekend and wish to extend my condolences to all those affected. This act of terrorism reminds me that we cannot take our safety and that of our dogs for granted: We must stay on our toes and be mindful of those around us. There has been more theft at shows in the recent past than any of us would like to acknowledge i.e. things disappearing from set-ups, motorhomes, booths, etc. We all need to take note and try to secure our belongings, merchandise, and dogs.

All of us at The Canine Chronicle wish Michel Kemp and Michelle Abati our most sincere condolences on the loss of Mike’s kennel this past week to fire. We are so sad for all involved and it reminds us how quickly the things we love can be destroyed.

We were also saddened to learn of the loss of “Darcy” of Pointer fame. Our sympathy to Frank DePaulo, Angie Lloyd and DeeAnn Ying. We know you miss her every day.

Congrats to Gary and Susan Allison for winning the booth decorating contest for the 4th year in a row at Woofstock!!! Congrats also to Joe Berkau, Burk Hughes, owners Jan Hepper and Ric Wilson, as well as breeders Dale Martenson and Ric Wilson for making history with their “Leo” becoming the first Sable Chin to win an All Breed Best In Show.

Joe and Carla Sanchez have had a very positive, busy last couple of weeks. They were of to the Virgin Islands to marry off their son, CJ, only to learn that their grandson, Mark, has been drafted by the Kansas City Royals!!!! Congrats to the Sanchez family on a week filled with life-changing accomplishments.

Birthday wishes to the following who have celebrated gaining another year over the past couple of weeks: Honey Glendinning, Lori Wilson-Paust, Chris Keith, Jody Garcini, Ellen Akers-Perry, Guy Fisher, Jennifer Hoffman, Jason Lynn, Sharon Sakson, Kellie Miller, Jackie Breazeale, Janet Lange-Moses, John Miller, Diane Burvee, and Barry Clothier.

Happy Anniversaries to Lorraine & Chip Rainwater and Michelle Michael & Edwardo Jordan.

To all those travelling to shows this week: Please be safe out there and if you are showing where the temperatures are inordinately warm, please take special care of your dogs and keep a watchful eye on your surroundings.
