66 – The Annual,2015-16
BREEDERS
• I will plan every breeding for the betterment of the breed.
• I will refuse to breed my champion stud dog to unworthy bitches.
• I will not breed more puppies than I can properly care for.
• I will never knowingly misrepresent a puppy to secure a sale.
• I will give the owners of my puppies all the help I can for the life of the dog.
• I will help newcomers to my breed to fulfill their true potential as an exhibitor and future breeder.
• I will not fall victim to kennel blindness and will never discredit the bloodlines of others.
EXHIBITORS
• I will always present my dog for the judge’s appraisal clean, well-groomed and with some prior training before entering the ring.
• I will follow the judge’s instructions precisely for I know that his or her time is limited and valuable.
• I will congratulate the winner before I leave the ring to find a quiet place to sulk.
• I will be a good sport at all times, and I will take the time to thank the judge for 4th place in the class I expected to win.
• I will NEVER sit ring-side and judge the classes aloud for the benefit of the spectators and occasionally for the judge as well.
JUDGES
• I will have read and re-read the Standard, and be fully prepared for every breed I am scheduled to judge.
• I will be patient with novice exhibitors and children in the breed ring, for these people are tomorrow’s breeders and seasoned competitors.
• I will always handle dogs gently, especially puppies and novice class entries.
• I will never watch a class in an adjacent ring while an exhibit in my own ring is being gaited.
• I will refrain from personal conversations with well-known handlers and old friends while they are in my ring as it could easily give the wrong impression.
