Ocala to Become Year Round Equine Show Destination City
In partnership with Roberts Centre and Eukanuba Hall, WEC is available for dog shows and competitions in Southwest Ohio. In preparation of our dog shows we wet and roll the footing so that it is a hard surface. This allows for a safe and comfortable event for your canine friend.

I was saddened to hear that our dog show family has lost another long-time family member: Roberta Campbell passed away suddenly from a stroke. Mrs. Campbell was a breeder and handler with her late husband, the famous terrier handler Seth Campbell. Please join us in wishing Roberta’s family and friends most sincere condolences on her loss.

Let’s all send positive thoughts to Ron and Debbie Scott. For those who don’t know, Ron suffered a subdural hematoma and is recovering at home post-surgery. He has another surgery ahead of him in a few weeks, so everyones’s thoughts and good wishes are appreciated. You can reach out to Ron and Debbie via Facebook if you do not have their email address. Gerry Meisels has also been hospitalized for several weeks, but I hear he is finally on the mend! I am certain he would love to hear from his friends in the dog show community.
Get Well Wishes to Ron Scott
Many of you are not aware that our good friend Ron Scott suffered a subdural hematoma last Friday, which required emergency neurological surgery where part of his skull was removed. A two-hour surgery and 57 staples and 2 stitches later, Ron was placed in intensive care then critical care until Wednesday. He has since been released and is recovering at his home
Nancie Mages – A True Dog Person
We are sad to report our good friend Nancie Mages passed away in her sleep last night. Fanciers who have known Nancie over the past decade or so remember her as an owner of the top winning Border Collies…

The Animal Control truck showed up at the Ft. Wayne show on Sunday. Apparently someone (not sure if it was a spectator or exhibitor) saw someone walking dogs to their vehicle in a manner they were uncomfortable with and took a cell phone video….. Voila, enter Animal Control. We need to be mindful of all of the technology that is out there now, folks. Something as innocent as a lead correction to a non-dog show person can be taken as cruel and inappropriate. If they take a video or photograph the incident, it can appear much more severe or “cruel” than it really is in actuality. As a result, my suggestion is that if one needs to correct or be firm with a dog, think about who may be around you before you do it.

I am off to Fort Wayne this coming weekend: I’d love to catch up with you folks and hear about what you are up to! Look me up and let’s share some stories. As we near the end of the year, this show most often attracts a lot of the nation’s top dogs. I am looking forward to seeing great dogs and my friends from around the country.

I am saddened that two of the fancy’s dear friends have lost their moms: My most sincere condolences to Larry Cornelius and Holley Eldred: both were able to be at their mothers’ sides. Please know all of your friends are thinking about you as you cope with your loss.
