As the AKC National Championship in Orlando draws near, the fancy is making arrangements for travel, etc. Note that the all breeds held in conjunction with the AKC National Championship also have an early closing date: Entries for the all breeds held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday close Wednesday, November 23rd and entries for the National Championship close Wednesday November 16th. I do not believe that hard copy premiums will be mailed for the AKC National Championship, but the premium list for the all breeds has been mailed: Once again there are two different show superintendents: MB-F for the all breeds and Onofrio for the AKC show. They have added a special parking lot for box trucks, etc. so be sure to look at the premium list(s) as pre-reservation is required!
It is difficult for me to believe that another year is closing: Where DOES the time go? It seems like only yesterday we were starting the year in Palm Springs or Florida!
I enjoyed catching up with Joe Walton the other day and just talking dogs. He is full of great stories.
I am saddened that two of the fancy’s dear friends have lost their moms: My most sincere condolences to Larry Cornelius and Holley Eldred: both were able to be at their mothers’ sides. Please know all of your friends are thinking about you as you cope with your loss.
I saw that the talented Terry Chacon designed a lovely pin in memory of Taylor Lane. Anyone interested in purchasing a pin can send a self-addressed envelope to Adrian Agard, P.O. Box 81608, Wahiawa, HI 96786. Friends of the fancy Mercedes Vila, Jaime Coppage, Alicia Morrison Jones, Sharon Svoboda and Rosanna Loera helped make the pins possible: Thank you to all for your thoughtfulness.
Birthday wishes to Gary Andersen, Willie Jordan, Keith Pautz, Diane McGarvey, Joe Berkau, Michael Brantley and Debbie Burke-Scott.
Happy Anniversary wishes go out to Jodi and Leonardo Garcini and Hilda and John Bradshaw.
I am excited to get my copy of the book “Dogs, The Family We Choose” authored by my friend and well-known greyhound breeder Melanie Steele. Proceeds from her book will benefit the North Caroline College of Veterinary Medicine. To purchase a copy you can contact email@example.com.
I hope to hear from you soon about exciting trips and life events. In the meantime, be careful out there, hug your pooch and be kind to your fellow exhibitors.
Until next time…..
