- I am a breed in the Herding group; a dual-purpose breed utilized as both a waterfowl retriever and a sheepherder.

Rustic is the word often used to describe the overall look of this sturdy dog of medium size. I am slightly longer than tall. My working ability is attributed to an intense desire to please.

My distinctive rustic curly, single coat is a hallmark of my breed. I must always be shown in a natural coat and never be aesthetically groomed in any way. For shows, my recommended extended length of coat is between 1-6 inches to demonstrate the quality of the curl or cord. There is no preference for length of coat within this range.
