Table Talk

The saying “it ain’t over till it’s over” is true to form as it relates to this year’s winter! I remember several years ago driving to the Louisville cluster down I-65 in an ice storm. The following year, I ran the air conditioner in the truck.

Well, this year my friends the weather has caused grief once again. The York cluster has cancelled it’s show for today due to inclement weather: judges are having great difficulty getting in; hopefully the weather will calm down and all will be ready for the show Thursday! The building will open at 3 p.m. today for exhibitors to unload, etc.

Those attending the Louisville cluster can arrive Wednesday afternoon. Please take note that they have turned the water off due to potential freezing temperatures. Those that were planning to hook up to water will need to ensure that their water tanks are full prior to arrival. There is a source on the grounds to fill your tanks, however, you will be unable to “hook up” to water.

Many of our friends are arriving home from their trips across the pond to Crufts. I have heard nothing but positive comments about this year’s show. Congratulations to Jason Lynn & Michael Gadsby on their history-making BIS win with their American Cocker Spaniel, Show Champion Afterglow Miami Ink. While there have been some travel snafu’s as a result of the weather, we have all of our US dog fanciers back safe and sound. I’d love to hear from you about the things you found most exceptional at this year’s show.

The big news on the West Coast is the announcement of the new AKC representative for that region… Larry Cornelius! We are very happy for our good friend and we know he will be a great addition to AKC’s team.

Joe Sanchez was laid to rest on March 9th at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Covina Hills, CA. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Canine Health Foundation in his memory.

Birthday wishes this week to Kate Hanlon, Matt Perchick and Dick Greaver.

The weather out there is very unpredictable my friends: please be careful in your travels!

Until next time….
