Table Talk – September 12, 2018

It is hurricane season once again and friends in the path of Hurricane Florence are making plans for evacuation. Brian and Mary Clegg in the Cincinnati, OH area, Erika and Bob Busby in Mooresville, NC and Maripi Wooldridge in Mebane, NC have all offered their kennel facilities for anyone needing a safe place for their animals. They can all be reached via Facebook Messenger. Our friend Alicia Morrison Jones and her family will be evacuating this morning. Best wishes to all as you ride out this latest storm! You will be in our prayers.

As a result of the impending storm, the Hampton Harvest Circuit in Hampton, Virginia has canceled their shows scheduled for this coming weekend on September 15-16.

I had a chance to catch up with Phil & Amy Booth regarding some upcoming changes in their professional lives. Phil and Amy will be retiring from full-time handling after the Orlando shows this December. They will be relocating to Southern California to pursue other business opportunities. We at The Canine Chronicle wish Phil and Amy the best as they begin this next chapter of their lives together.

I was so glad to hear that Risky Molnar’s cancer is in remission!!!! Risky will undergo consolidation therapy for the next three months, but we are relieved to hear that a transplant is not necessary at this time!!!

Healing thoughts go out to Judy English Murray who is recuperating from a recent knee replacement. Hang in there Judy! You will be as good as new very soon!

I was surprised that Michael Shepherd was already back running left-handed circles after his recent heart attack. Take it easy, my friend! It is great to have you back!

I was saddened to hear of the death of Manchester Terrier fancier Gary Anderson (Oasis Manchesters). Our thoughts go out to his wife, Judy, and his friends and family. Gary will be sorely missed by the fancy.

Linda Mattson has gone home from City of Hope where she has been recovering from her recent transplant and chemotherapy treatment. Best wishes to Linda for a speedy recovery.

Happy 40th anniversary to Sulie & Greg Paveza! We wish many more years of health and happiness to you. I heard Greg is recovering from recent shoulder surgery. We wish you a speedy recovery, my friend.

We would also like to extend happy anniversary wishes to Patrina & Bruce Odette, Debbie & Steve Melgreen, Sam & Karen Mammano and Kathy & Dave Musto. May you lovebirds enjoy many more years of happiness together!

Congratulation to Pilar Kuhn and Rod Ott on the publication of Clean Paws are Very Important for a Scotty You Know, illustrated by Valeria Moldovan. Pilar and Rod will be autographing all first run copies of their book. For more information, contact Pilar and Rod at ottciendabooks@gmail.com.

Celebrating birthdays this week are: Janet Woodrich, KayCee Klang, Nancy Hritzo Trangmar, Susan St. John Brown, Richard Lawless, Holley Eldred, Esmae Minne, Bill Ellis, Grahm Miller, Michael Shepherd and Corinna Ohrnberger.

Anyone who follows my Facebook feed may have noticed an increased number of “warm and fuzzy” photos and memes of happy dogs, and other animals. I am continuing my quest for positive stories and photos! I would like to challenge each of you: Before you post a negative comment, think about sharing something positive and kind.

May you all be safe in your travels. Until next time…
