You’ve probably seen some of these ‘dog-show fashion don’ts’ in the ring…

• Flip flops

• Casual attire

• Flowy garments

• Overly showy garments

• Colors that are wrong for the dog being shown

Yes, it’s a DOG show. And yes, it’s a dog SHOW. There are ways to be smart about what you wear in the ring so that the judge can focus on your dog, and isn’t that what you want the judge to focus on?

Beginning at the ground, understand that the judge will see your feet. By virtue of watching the dog gait, your feet will be in view. Try not to make them a focal point. The goal is for the judge to watch your dog’s feet, not yours.
