The National Dog Show Presented By Purina Airs Tomorrow!
The National Dog Show Presented by Purina is a beloved holiday tradition for families across the nation. Launched in 2002, it has delivered blockbuster TV ratings as a celebration of America’s fascination with man’s best friend.
Hosted by John O’Hurley, the Seinfeldensemble actor (catalog king J. Peterman) and the ultimate champion of ABC’s inaugural “Dancing With The Stars.” O’Hurley is joined by expert analyst David Frei, one of America’s foremost authorities on the sport and the former longtime (27 years) face and voice of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on USA Network.
Olympics host and tennis analyst Mary Carillo joins as sideline reporter for the program that is a celebration of man’s best friend with segments on the dogs in our lives and on the competition, which annually features America’s top show dogs.
This year’s competition introduces three new breeds: the Mudi, a Hungarian farm dog; the Bracco Italiano, a versatile hunting and pointing breed; and the Russian Toy, an adorable little lap sitter.
The show is broadcast on NBC Thanksgiving Day from noon-2 p.m. in all time zones, following the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The family-oriented celebration of dogdom provides America and its 65 million pet-owning households a show with mass appeal before football takes over the day. It attracts a total audience of over 20 million each year.
An encore presentation of the broadcast is scheduled for Saturday night, November 26. in primetime, 8-10 p.m. ET (7 p.m., MT, PT).
