As regular readers of my work will know, I often like to add a personal perspective (where indeed these exist) to the breeds I feature. I think it lifts their story far above that of just a catalog of show wins and depicts them as (what the vast majority of any given breed becomes) the valuable family members and important memory makers they most definitely are.
The Lhasa Apso definitely fits into this bracket.
Thankfully, as a teen, I gained some very close and valuable experience with this exotic-looking, glamorous dog.
My family moved our home when I was fourteen, a particularly difficult age to suddenly pick up sticks and learn to fit in with a whole new peer group. Thankfully, soon after we moved into our home, a new family also moved in just across the road, comprising of a recently divorced mother and her two girls who were around my age.
I would often see one of the girls walking a tiny bundle of gold fluff–an adorable Lhasa Apso puppy they called Chloe.
Of course, this was the perfect conversation opener for me and, very soon Vikki and I became thick as thieves!
