Lila Holberg Wins Best Junior Handler At The AKC National Championship Junior Showmanship Competition
The American Kennel Club (AKC®) is pleased to announce that Lila Holberg with her Pointer GCH CH Southern Summit Hot Gossip JH was awarded the coveted title of Best Junior Handler along with a $5,000 scholarship. The Junior Showmanship competition, for handlers between 9 to 18 years of age, was held for the 24th year at the AKC®National Championship Presented by Royal Canin on Saturday, December 14th, 2024. Preliminaries were judged by Rachel Robertson and Morgan Miller. The Finals were judged by Patricia Proctor.
Junior handlers must have a grade point average of at least 3.0 or equivalent for the September 2022 – June 2023 school year in order to compete. Scholarships from the American Kennel Club were awarded as follows: First – $5,000; Second – $4,000; Third – $3,000; Fourth – $2,000. Each of the other eight finalists received a $500 scholarship.
