In Loving Memory of Ralph Del Deo
The Canine Chronicle is saddened to share the passing of Ralph Del Deo. He passed peacefully on March 25, 2026, at the age of 101.
Mr. Ralph Del Deo and his wife, Blanche Wagner Del Deo, shared a lifelong passion for breeding and exhibiting purebred dogs, competing in both conformation and field work. Together, they raised numerous champion Pointers, Wire Fox Terriers, Dachshunds, and Affenpinschers.
Mr. Del Deo was also a highly respected judge, officiating at dog shows throughout the United States, England, and Spain. Among his many honors, he was invited to judge at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York, where he judged the Sporting Group on two occasions.
In addition to judging and competing, Mr. Del Deo was deeply involved in the governance of the sport. He was active in matters of discipline within the American Kennel Club and served as a delegate for more than 25 years.
The Canine Chronicle extends its condolences to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
