In Loving Memory of Marcelo Chagas

The Canine Chronicle is saddened to share the passing of Marcelo Chagas, who died on January 15, 2026.

Marcelo was both a breeder-owner-handler and a successful professional handler in Brazil and the United States. He bred top-winning Beagles under the kennel prefix “Torquay” and Toy Manchester Terriers with his husband, Dr. Roger P. Travis-Chagas, under the prefix “Cottage Lake.”

Marcelo will be remembered by many as a great mentor and friend, as well as a fierce competitor. The Canine Chronicle extends its deepest condolences to his husband, Roger, and to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
