Giant Schnauzer Wins Working Group At The 148th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

The Giant Schnauzer of Ocean City, NJ, handled by Katie Bernardin and owned by Sandra Nordstrom, Katherine Bernardin and Cherlann Ambrose, won the Working Group under judge Rick Gschwender of Nampa, ID at the 148th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show presented by Purina Pro Plan, held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Monty, a 4.5-year-old male, officially known as GCHS CH Hearthmore’s Wintergreen Mountain RI CGC TKN FITB, took top honors among the 31 dogs entered within the Working Group. Westminster will see over 2,500 entries in conformation, with two days of Best of Breed judging from Monday, May 13–Tuesday, May 14, culminating with the Group and Best in Show competitions.

The Working Group was televised live on FS1 on Tuesday, May 14 followed by the crowning of Best in Show on FS1 from 7:00–11:00 p.m. EDT. The Empire State Building illuminated the New York City skyline in Westminster’s iconic purple and gold to celebrate the 148th annual event.
