Bourbon the Whippet Wins Hound Group At The 149th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

The Whippet of Sugar Valley, GA handled by Cheslie Pickett Smithey and owned by Justin Smithey, Dr. Ken Latimer, Judy Descutner, Nancy Shaw, and Cheslie Smithey, won the Hound Group under judge Mr. Harold Tatro, III of Crowley, TX at the 149th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show presented by Purina Pro Plan held at Madison Square Garden, “The World’s Most Famous Arena,” on Monday, February 10.

Bourbon, a 9-year-old female officially known as GCHP CH Pinnacle Kentucky Bourbon, took top honors among the 35 dogs entered in the Hound Group. Westminster sees over 2,500 entries in conformation, with two days of Best of Breed judging from Monday, February 10 – Tuesday, February 11 held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, culminating with the Group and Best in Show competitions at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden.
