Bernese Mountain Dog “Ulli” Wins Best In Show At 2024 AKC National Owner-Handled Series Finals
The AKC® National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS) Finals Best in Show honors went to GCHG CH Windfall Adesa 3 Wire Winter @ Emerald Mtn CD RN FDC CGC, a Bernese Mountain Dog known affectionately as “Ulli” owned and handled by Beth Dennehy and bred by Kris Hayko and Michael Knicely D.V.M. The 2024 NOHS Finals Best in Show winner was crowned by Mr. Michael Faulkner after intense canine competition at the AKC® National Championship Presented by Royal Canin on December 14th, 2024.
“Congratulations to this year’s AKC NOHS Finals Best in Show winner,” said Guy Fisher, Manager, Club Development. “Each competitor brought their best to the competition, and it was thrilling to watch.”
The top ten owner-handled dogs (plus ties) in each breed from the 2024 qualifying period were invited to compete in the Finals, and the 829 competitors entered represented 204 different breeds/varieties.
Reserve Best in Show and Group Winners
Reserve Best in Show: GCHG DC Baha Bahrain Storm RN MC, a Saluki known as “Flash” owned by Carol Perotta and Caroline Coile and bred by Betsy Cummings, Jamey Lambert, and Dr. Caroline Coile.
After winning their Best of Breed competitions, the following top dogs went on to win in their respective groups and compete for AKC National Owner-Handled Series Best in Show:
Sporting: GCHB CH Roaneden’s Shorelander, a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever known as “Luca” owned and bred by Christine and Robert Jones.
Hound: GCHG DC Baha Bahrain Storm RN MC, a Saluki known as “Flash” owned by Carol Perotta and Caroline Coile and bred by Betsy Cummings, Jamey Lambert, and Dr. Caroline Coile.
Working: GCHG CH Windfall Adesa 3 Wire Winter @ Emerald Mtn CD RN FDC CGC, a Bernese Mountain Dog known as “Ulli” owned by E Dennehy, WM Rogers, K Hayko, and B Kinley-Blewett and bred by Kris Hayko and Michael Knicely D.V.M.
Terrier: GCHS CH First Class Flawless My Dear, a Bedlington Terrier known as “Reign” owned by Priscilla Boland and bred by Jacquelyn Fogel and Chris Mackenzie.
Toy: CH Bayside This Is The Way, a Toy Manchester Terrier known as “Mando” owned by Haley Stillman and bred by Dianna L Texter and Michael J Texter.
Non-Sporting: GCHG CH Rio’s Where Hugo I Go CGC ATT, a Chow Chow known as “Hugo” owned by Elizabeth McElroy and bred by Amy Frick, Ronron Eugenio, and Leo Andrew Eugenio.
Herding: GCHG CH Midnight White Sugarok Strut My Stuff At Nallie’s CGC, a Finnish Lapphund known as “Mowgli” owned by Alexandria Barbas, Liane Tofani, and Stephen Hall and bred by Liane Tofani and Linda Marden.
