AKC Master Groomer Testing in Orlando!

AKC Master Groomer testing is available during the week of Orlando! Seize the opportunity to become certified in your breed’s coat-type. Testing is available in curly, wire, drop or jacketed. This is an excellent opportunity start your AKC Master Groomer journey or establish your breed expertise for your kennel.

Being a dog groomer is not easy, and we know that better than anyone. Hours of hard work, quick reflexes, and artistic flair have gotten you here. AKC’s Master Groomer program has the recognition you deserve. Our mission is to cultivate a culture of safety, to educate beyond the shave-down, and to elevate the grooming industry. At the American Kennel Club we understand the importance of each breed’s standard and how it relates to coat type and care. Understanding coat type sets the Master Groomer apart and is the foundation for master-level grooming.

Dogs should have at least 4-weeks coat growth and will be evaluated on their breed’s profile. Drop coated breeds are evaluated in a “pet-trim”.

Dogs do not have to be entered in the show.

Dogs must be prechecked by steward before grooming can begin and then groomed in private show setups. Dogs must be finished by 4pm. Check-in begins at 8:00am.

Groomer identity kept anonymous to evaluator until after scoring. Anyone may present dog for evaluation.

One groomer per dog. Coaching is not allowed.
Grooming will be observed at random by the steward.
