Ah, it’s good to be back! A phrase uttered by many a competitor at one of the first horse shows to resume since the COVID-19 outbreak. Over Memorial Day weekend, there was the OPHC Welcome Back to the World held in Oklahoma; the Memorial Day Mane Event in Georgia; and the Keep Your Distance Show in Arkansas.

I was encouraged to see the list of shows for June and July that are still scheduled to occur! Pending the mayor’s decision regarding the number of people allowed at a social gathering, the Western Ohio Summer Cluster is still scheduled for June 26-28. Those of you who know Nina Fetter as well as I do know that if there is any way to make this show happen, she is the woman for the job! If social gathering limitations prevent the cluster from occurring at the end of June, it will be rescheduled in the July/August time frame. Fanciers should continue to make plans to attend the following shows in June and July:

The following announcement appeared in the catalog of the 1926 Crufts Dog Show: ‘Blenheim Spaniels of the Old Type, as shown in pictures of Charles II’s time, long face, no stop, flat skull not inclined to be domed, with a spot in the center of the skull. The first prizes in classes 947 and 948 are given by Roswell Eldridge Esq. of New York and will be continued for five years. Prizes go to the nearest to type required.’
