From The CC Vault: The First Dog Show

1877dogshow-300x214

By Amy Fernandez Originally published: September 2015 Anyone acquainted with our sport knows that the first dog show happened in 1859. However, like most conventionally accepted historical facts, the truth is kinda, sorta different. “The Sporting Dog Show” staged at the Town Hall, Newcastle-on-Tyne on June 28 and 29, 1859 was actually an afterthought tacked […]

From The CC Vault: The “Real” World

Brooksville-Stud-Book-300x224

By Pilar Kuhn Originally published: May 2013 My world away from dog showing is a complex one. Westminster 2023 – Welcome to Queens

New,York,-,September,4,,2017:,South,Plaza,Fountains,At

By Amy Fernandez

Welcome to Queens!

AKC-Jr-Showmanship

By William Given Originally published October 2012 photo by Lisa Croft-Elliott In the August issue I provided ten helpful hints for juniors. Number 5 on the list was, “If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.” Over-handling is, I believe, the most common handling error being made by juniors in the ring today. I stated, “Too […]
