The Coton de Tulear is one of the Bichon family of dogs, which includes the Bichon Frise, Maltese, Bolognese, Havanese, Löwchen, and Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka. While the family originated around the Mediterranean, it traveled on sailing ships over the centuries to other lands.

Last month a conversation about judges helping exhibitors show their dogs better overflowed from Facebook into these pages. So many people had strong feelings about it that in order to fit them all, it needed to be two articles instead of just one.
