I Wish I Hadn’t Done That

As a member of the dog show community you may have, at one time or another, bumped up against someone who totally misunderstood what you said, repeated it incorrectly and caused a conflict to begin or escalate.

He has another surgery ahead of him in a few weeks, so everyones’s thoughts and good wishes are appreciated. You can reach out to Ron and Debbie via Facebook if you do not have their email address. Gerry Meisels has also been hospitalized for several weeks, but I hear he is finally on the mend! I am certain he would love to hear from his friends in the dog show community.

Voila, enter Animal Control. We need to be mindful of all of the technology that is out there now, folks. Something as innocent as a lead correction to a non-dog show person can be taken as cruel and inappropriate. If they take a video or photograph the incident, it can appear much more severe or “cruel” than it really is in actuality. As a result, my suggestion is that if one needs to correct or be firm with a dog, think about who may be around you before you do it.
