The cause, baby boomers are retiring in large numbers and an ever-shrinking labor force both serve to create a growing number of unfilled jobs. Although many jobs are available in the technology sector, the problem extends well into manufacturing, construction, healthcare, finance and hospitality. In a recent survey conducted by U.S. Bank, 61 percent of the business respondents reported problems finding and hiring employees. Employers across the board also expressed a widening gap between the skills they seek and those possessed by potential employees.

Many of us who don’t keep the pick puppy pass our best and brightest to friends, neighbors, or local owners so we can keep them close to eventually show and breed them. While we consider the success of our breeding programs by doing this, is it detrimental to our sport to refuse to share our best puppies?
