Contrary to non-stop AR predictions, Crufts has not faded into oblivion. In fact, 2023 was mobbed from start to finish. Spanning Thursday through Sunday, March 9-12, spectator attendance at this supersized venue broke records throughout the four days. Both Saturday and Sunday, Birmingham’s NEC was forced to suspend ticket sales for several hours to achieve some modicum of crowd control.

Ironically, after more than a century of direct comparison, Westminster 147 opened the same day of the running of its historical sports rival–the Kentucky Derby. It’s a total coincidence but still kinda cool.

For the second time in Westminster history, the top dog has taken home both the Masters Obedience Championship and High in Trial Award. The Golden Retriever of Cannon Falls, Minnesota, handled by Korin Bevis, won the 8th Annual Masters Obedience Championship at Westminster presented by Purina Pro Plan.
