In Memoriam of Wendy Bettis
It is with great sadness we report that Wendy Bettis of has passed away at the age of 55.
Those who knew Wendy will remember her as a fixture at West Coast dog shows and major shows across the country since childhood. After winning Best Junior at Westminster in 1986, Wendy and her husband, Jimmy, went on to become successful professional handlers of numerous breeds in multiple groups.
Wendy’s passion was focused on the Boxer breed, and she and Jimmy bred many champions and top winners under the Irondale prefix. She showed numerous top winning dogs throughout her career including many #1 Boxers and top Working dogs.
Those who knew Wendy also knew she fought a long and arduous battle with pancreatic cancer. She finally succumbed to this dreaded disease today.
Our heartfelt sympathies go out to her mother and father, Ron and Linda Mattson, husband Jimmy, children, Mathew (28) and Nathan (20), and the rest of her family and friends at this difficult time.
