Dr. Donald G. Sturz Named Westminster Kennel Club President
Dr. Donald Sturz of Brooklyn, New York began in the sport of dogs as a successful junior handler, leading him to a lifetime of passion in purebred dogs in various sports. Dr. Sturz has trained and participated dogs in conformation, obedience, and field trials, while breeding and handling Golden Retrievers, Miniature Poodles, and Pembroke Welsh Corgis.
Dr. Sturz has been an active participant in Westminster broadcasting in the past several years as an analyst for the Fox Sports telecast of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, and then the co-host for the Westminster Kennel Club Highlights show presented by Purina Pro Plan. The Canine Chronicle looks forward to seeing where Dr. Sturz leadership will take the Westminster Kennel Club in the coming years.
Currently Dr. Sturz is approved to judge the Sporting and Hound groups, as well as several Working, Terrier, Non-Sporting and Herding breeds, Best in Show, and Junior Showmanship. Dr Sturz is the current delegate to the American Kennel Club for The Westminster Kennel Club.
