I write this for those imperfect souls who dream of taking their dogs into the ring themselves but are too afraid of looking the fool. My advice is to do it anyway.
The American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog was established in 1982 around a distinguished collection of dog paintings, drawings and decorative objects. I’ve written about the Museum, its curator Alan Fausel, and some special exhibitions in previous issues of The Chronicle.
Meet The Breeds has gained momentum year by year since its move to the Javits Center. I anticipated big crowds for the weekend’s extravaganza. It is by far the most popular dog-related event in NYC.

As far as dog clubs go, Progressive truly lived up to its name simply by daring to demand AKC recognition. Comprised of dedicated Toy breed lovers, they were fed up with the entrenched attitudes of judges and show committees. Their breeds deserved equal consideration at shows, so they decided to revise the playing field.
