Fault judging comes pretty easy for humans in everyday life and in the sport. We seem to be wired, at least to some degree, to find fault in each other. Maybe it helps us feel better about ourselves. As dog fanciers, we can’t help but find fault in each other’s dogs. Maybe it helps us feel better about our own dogs.
Anyone delving into the rather murky history of the Bullmastiff will frequently encounter lines like this: ‘The original Mastiff of Britain is one of the country’s oldest breeds, but its descendant, the Bullmastiff, is a comparatively recent development.’

Storming this Maltese citadel could be called her test of fire be- cause that’s when she really hit her stride.
