Will Alexander has an in-depth conversation about dogs with AKC Judge, Bill Shelton. This is a can’t-miss conversation between two great dog men!

Today’s interview is with the iconic dog man George Alston. George devoted his life to the sport of purebred dogs, and he is one of those who gave back more than he ever took from it. He won Best Junior Handler at Westminster in 1954 and went on to win the group at this iconic show numerous times.

As we have seen in so many of our pedigree dogs’ histories, again, and again, the names of one or two special men or women always seem to outshine the rest. These are the ones that, in many cases, dedicate their whole lives to the formation and preservation of their chosen breed, and their efforts and sacrifice deserve to be recognized and remembered.

Welcome to this exciting series on Canine Chronicle TV called Next Gen with Michael Hill. In this episode Michael talks to Peter Kubacz!
The Next Gen series – Michael interviews young people who are leading the way for the next generation of exhibitors, breeders and judges in the sport of purebred dogs. They talk about how they were introduced to the sport, their favorite breed, their success stories and more.

The next breed we tackle in my ongoing series of interviews with breed experts is the Golden Retriever.

Our sport is deeply rooted in history and tradi- tion. The great dogs and great dog people are written about in books and magazines, and stories about them are passed on whenever dog show people gather.

Watch for more of Sarah Montague’s interviews and articles in the series, Good Dog (People) in the coming months. In the first of this series, she spoke with some movers and shakers about initiatives they’ve taken to be sure the sport stays strong, and why the fancy is bred to withstand the worst.
