This honor and accolade is reserved for those few people who seem to be able to identify unerringly the highest quality dogs coming closest to the standard in many and even most breeds. In 1935 he became involved with bringing in a fairly new breed just gaining recognition by fanciers, the Norwich Terrier. Looking back, in 1962 he wrote that in the fall of 1935 while in England he received a letter commissioning him to purchase a Norwich Terrier in whelp.

I was saddened to hear that long-time Western Reserve Kennel Club member Peg Gross passed away suddenly last week. Peg was known for her Schipperke and Finnish Spitz shown and bred under the Roadrunner kennel name. Peg will be greatly missed by the fancy, but most of all she will be missed by her family and her dear friends with the Western Reserve Kennel Club.
