Congratulations to Margery Good and co-owners France Bergeron, Emily Bennett, Lucy Spiegel and Sandra Middlebrooks! Their Sealyham Terrier, Stache, won the first Chicago Challenge Cup sponsored by The Canine Chronicle in Chicago this past weekend! Marge was presented with a check for $20,000 and was able to choose from three wonderful charities to donate an additional $5,000. The charities were the AKC Canine Health Foundation, Take the Lead, or the American Heart Association. Team Stache chose the AKC Canine Health Foundation.

The Westminster Kennel Club Announces Judging Panel For The Historic 148th Event

Mrs. Kramer brings a lifetime of experience as a preservation breeder, professional dog handler, American Kennel Club Executive Field Representative, and judge to the most prestigious assignment in the sport. As a child, Mrs. Kramer started in the sport showing her Wire Fox Terriers. She later worked for a top Scottish Terrier breeder after school and on weekends, to learn animal husbandry, and gain more experience showing dogs. Later she apprenticed under a prominent professional dog handler and eventually became a highly successful top handler herself while continuing to be a preservation breeder. Mrs. Kramer has bred National Specialty and All-Breed Best In Show winners, and numerous top-ranked dogs. She handled top-winning Terriers and Toy dogs setting

A Costume Does NOT Make the Collie (Man)!

That was my first thought when I checked out Toco, the Japanese media sensation who reportedly has spent $14,000 to satisfy his lifelong dream of transforming himself into a Collie. His journey from human to Collie has already garnered an enormous social media fan club–32,000 YouTube subscribers according to a recent NY Post story. By way of explanation he said, “Do you remember your dreams from when you are little? You want to be a hero or a wizard…” Yeah well, I wanted to be a mermaid and I’m still waiting for that one.
