Healing thoughts to Red Tatro who missed the Fort Worth KC show on Sunday due to illness. Red went in for exploratory surgery due to an obstruction. He and Denise have had a rough time recently and they are in our thoughts and prayers. Here’s to better days ahead!
In February of this year, all AKC Executive Field Representatives were required to complete a training program conducted by the U.S. Center for SafeSport. Effective this year, the training program is also a continuing education requirement for AKC Registered Handlers. The U.S. Center for SafeSport is an independent, non-profit organization committed to building a sport community where participants can work and learn together free of emotional, physical and sexual abuse and misconduct. Requiring the AKC Registered Handlers and Field Representatives to participate in this training is the beginning of an effort to make our sport a safer environment for all.
Teddy was part of the local dog establishment and he was also, many times, a dinner companion or house guest to many of us during or after the shows.
We met regularly at shows we judged, and our friendship remained a close one. Maybe too close at times! We were gal pals, and both felt the need for someone to bounce things off.
