London Event Set to Wag Tails

Tickets are now on sale for the capital’s biggest dog event, Discover Dogs, returning to ExCeL, London from 15 to 16 October 2022. Prospective owners, canine enthusiasts and dog lovers are all welcome to come and meet, greet and discover more about over 200 different breeds all gathering under one ‘woof’.

Organised by The Kennel Club, Discover Dogs features hundreds of different breeds so visitors can learn more about their favorite four-legged friends from dedicated experts, find out about how to buy a dog responsibly, and how to look after their new canine companion. The two-day event provides those who are mad about dogs the opportunity to meet all types of breeds, of all shapes, sizes and personalities, from the popular favorites, to the lesser known ‘underdogs’.

Visitors can also meet rescue dogs looking for their forever home and find out about The Kennel Club Breed Rescue organizations, and learn about the work of other welfare organizations, like Guide Dogs for the Blind, Support Dogs, Hypo Hounds and more.

Other features at the event include fast-paced agility displays and competitions, including Crufts 2023 qualifiers, the much-loved crossbreed competition, Scruffts, and impressive displays from clever Medical Detection and Metropolitan Police Dogs. The Cuddle Corner pop-up will also be returning for those who want to chill out on beanbags with their favorite breeds.

There are plenty of activities for the younger generation of dog lovers, with the Young Kennel Club area showcasing the range of canine activities teens and kids can get involved in with their dog and a Kids Zone for hands-on activities.

Elsewhere, visitors have the opportunity to meet some of the British and Irish vulnerable native breeds, like the Skye Terrier or Otterhound, and learn about the issues that these historic breeds can face, and why it’s important to raise their profile.

Vanessa McAlpine, Events Executive at The Kennel Club, which organizes the event said: “Discover Dogs is a fun event for anyone who’s dotty about dogs! It’s the perfect opportunity to meet hundreds of different breeds, of all shape and sizes, and to find out which is best suited to your lifestyle, if you’re thinking about becoming an owner.

“But the show isn’t just for those considering a canine – we welcome dog lovers of all ages to come along and find out about the work of The Kennel Club, such as The Kennel Club Breed Rescue organizations who do fantastic work for dogs who aren’t as fortunate as others. You can watch amazing doggy demonstrations and displays, and with over 100 trade stands selling anything and everything for dogs, it’s one of London’s most unique events and provides something for everyone – including of course our four-legged friends!”

Tickets are now on sale and cost £18 or £15 for concessions, with under 8s going free. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit: www.discoverdogs.org.uk
