GCh. Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect – May 18, 2011 – October 9, 2023

The Canine Chronicle is saddened to report the passing of the great Old English Sheepdog, GCh. Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect – known by all as Swagger.

Shown by his breeder and owner, Colton Johnson, Swagger won Reserve Best In Show from the Open Dog class at the 2013 Westminster Kennel Club dog show under Judge Mr. Michael Dougherty.  He went on to finish the year as the #1 Herding Dog while being shown at less than 70 shows. He also won the OESCA National Specialty that year.

2014 was a year for the record books when Colton piloted Swagger to #2 All Breeds and the #1 Herding Dog. With 118,634 points that year, Swagger was second only to the great Ch. Altana’s Mystique in The Canine Chronicle Herding Dog Hall of Fame. He finished his career as the top winning Old English Sheepdog of All Time with 114 Best In Shows.

Swagger made his mark as a sire, too. He was the father of dozens of champions and 7 Best In Show winners worldwide including the 2018 #1 Dog All Breeds, GCHG Bugaboo’s Let It Go Blu Mtn. ‘Elsa’ finished her career with 64 Best In Shows.

Swagger passed away a few days after the 2023 National Specialty. His owner, Colton Johnson, said, “This dog brought so much to me, my family, the sport of dogs and so much more… Of course, he waited until we got back from our National to make sure he could say goodbye to all of us, because that was just him. We are so lucky to have his legacy live on here, and that we were able to call him ours.”

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Johnson family at this difficult time. They lost more than a great dog; they lost an irreplaceable member of their family.
